Bug Jam 26

Summer is upon us, for the time being, and it seems like a good time to mention Bug Jam 26 at Santa Pod on 20th - 22nd July, especially as we'll be celebrating Lo 'E' Nuf''s 20th Anniversary year there.

On the track there's drag racing from Outlaw Flat Four, Super Modified, Street Eliminator, Outlaw Anglia and Super ET. Also on track will be VWDRC and, on Friday and Saturday, there's RWYB.

There's 2 days of Show & Shine. Saturday is for Rat Look and Military and on Sunday it's the turn of the shiny stuff.

Evening entertainment has, on Friday, The Wholls, Beatlemania and The Complete Stone Roses on the main stage with Haçienda in the Dance Zone, Carwash with Wham!Duran in the Retro Zone and Motown in Fuelers Bar. Saturday sees The Blind Hearts, The Current and Simon & Oscar from Ocean Colour unplugged on the main stage with Propaganda indie night in the Retro Zone, Super Hero themed night in the Dance Zone and Foam Party in Fuelers Bar.

Also during the weekend is the Comedy Tent, Jet Cars and Rocket Bike, Monster Trucks, Off Road course blah blah blah - as if we leave the campsite anyway!

Gate ticket prices are £80 for non-VW and £65 for VW

Lo 'E' Nuf Advance tickets are £55 and include Club Camping Pass and Toilet fee

Big Bang rained out

From Santa Pod:

BIG BANG HAS BEEN CALLED OFF DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER

Unfortunately no Sunday day ticket holders will be admitted and weekend ticket holders are being asked to leave site as soon as possible.

Keep hold of your tickets for an announcement on their web site in the week.

Fresh announcement from www.big-bang.co.uk:

BIG BANG HAS BEEN CALLED OFF DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER

Unfortunately no Sunday day ticket holders will be admitted and weekend ticket holders are being asked to leave site as soon as possible.

Due to some of the worst extreme weather we have ever experienced here at Santa Pod, we have taken the decision to apply an Extreme Weather Concession to weekend and Sunday tickets to be used ONLY towards the Big Bang Camper and Bus Show 2013.

Sunday tickets will retain 100% of their face value.

Weekend tickets will retain 35% of their face value.

The weekend value is proportionate to the level of activity which we managed to carry out. These must be redeemed on advance tickets ONLY which will be available until the Friday a week before gates open.

These values apply whether your tickets were used or not and there will be no refunds.

Please note that this is not a rain off policy as there is no policy in place for this event but merely a gesture of goodwill to our event supporters.

It's not very often the weather gets the better of us here at Santa Pod but unfortunately by Sunday the weather was too extreme for us to operate safely.

On a plus point for those staying in Club Camping, there is a new toilet block with a Pamper Room in the ladies for hairdryers etc sited next to the scrutineering barn.

Remember...

...no glass onsite at Santa Pod.

3,2,1 and you're back in the room

After a month of no PC, dying routers and intermittent internet Blog HQ is back online.

So, Coming Up:

This Sunday is the GTi SpringFest at Santa Pod and caters for all VAG cars. Featuring 1/4 mile RWYB, Show n Shine, AutoTest, Traders, etc etc.

Tickets are £15 on the gate, under 13s go free.

The following weekend is Big Bang, again at Santa Pod. RWYB, Show n Shine, Drag Racing, iffy evening entertainment, Comedy tent, Circus, Jet Car, Monster Truck, yada yada yada.

On a sensible note, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be making a fly past at Big Bang with a WWII Dakota at 12.20pm on Friday.

Tickets (what do you mean you didn't order an Early Bird ticket?) are £40 for the weekend, under 16s go free.

RWYB is £15 on Friday and £20 on Saturday for unlimited runs.

Onwards to May and the new Apex Festival at Lydden Hill race circuit in Kent during the weekend of 18th - 20th.

Featuring racing from the Beetle Challenge and Formula Vee chaps as well as RWYB circuit sessions and a Dyno Shoot Out on the rolling road along with a Show n Shine, downhill Soapbox Kart Challenge and evening entertainment.

Tickets are £27.50 in advance or £35 on the gate, under 16s go free.

Lastly, Donna at Santa Pod has sent us this advice for Bug Jam:

There will be a limited number of tickets to the event available on a first come, first served basis. If we sell out before the event, then no tickets will be available on the day.

No 7.5 ton lorries and transit-style vans (except for camper vans and VWs) will be allowed into Bug Jam and camping plot sizes will be limited.

People will not be able to reserve space for friends so if you want to camp together you will need to arrive together or if you are a group with ten or more vehicles, then you'll need to pre-book a club spot to guarantee your area.

NO EXIT & RE-ENTRY: This year once you have arrived at Bug Jam you will not be allowed to leave the Santa Pod Raceway site and re-enter at any time during the weekend. Anyone who leaves site will have to pay full admission again to re-enter. This is at the request of local authorities. There will be camping supplies available on site including crates of beer at reasonable prices. Please bring everything else you will need for the weekend with you including enough petrol/diesel.

To be fair, it doesn't really apply to us as we've all those bases covered but please pass on the info to any occasional visitors who are thinking of coming to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.
